Overview
Consultant, Property Tax Commercial – Ryan
The Property Tax Consultant (the “Consultant”) works with a team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients and to understand how the client computes each component of property tax. This includes researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The taxing authority verifies the issues, and the Consultant assists the team with this process. The Consultant is responsible for creating a positive team member experience, which leads to excellent client service and drives revenue and profit for the Firm.
Responsibilities
Create a positive team member experience.
Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
Work effectively with clients and taxing authorities on a national basis.
Attend client meetings and property inspections.
Review client property tax records and apply software knowledge to efficiently work with client data.
Research tax issues, prepare and review property reports and renditions.
Analyze assessment notices and determine potential assessment reductions; file appeals.
Determine liability for development projects and work with tax incentive issues for clients.
Interact frequently with team members and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Business Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Real Estate or other degree with Master’s in Business Discipline or JD, Business Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Must have (6) hours of Accounting or Economics or Real Estate or Finance with a 3.0 GPA or higher; Major GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Relevant work experience preferred (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs) or Bachelor's degree and one to three years of audit or tax related experience.
Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment; demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer Skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates And Licenses Valid driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Standard indoor working environment.
Occasional long periods of sitting while working at a computer.
Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm in person and via e-mail and telephone.
Regular interaction with clients and interface with external vendors in person and via e-mail and telephone.
Independent travel requirement: Up to 10-20%.
Compensation For certain California based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $74,800 - $93,500.
