Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40.00 Experience: Minimum 1 year of level 1 experience; level 2 may be considered. License: - Certifications: AHA BLS; ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography eligibility within 12 months of hire or completion of Paramedic training within 12 months of hire. Must-Have: - Associate's degree or higher required. - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with an emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty or a JRCERT accredited educational program with an emphasis in radiologic technology. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor or preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The goal is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, the technologist provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Work settings may include acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic or urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care team members to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations. Utilizes a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented, with technical quality consistent with established department protocols. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for reporting by physicians. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements. Performs other duties as assigned.
