Base pay range: $103,563/yr - $181,230/yr CDM Smith’s Concord office has an immediate need for a mid-level engineer with a drinking water or wastewater design background to support senior engineers on a variety of water and wastewater projects in the Water Services Group locally and across the West Coast. Responsibilities
With general direction, create water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc., engineering designs to meet client project requirements. Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs. Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Perform site reviews and studies to align designs with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary. Perform water quality analyses and modeling. Contribute to the firm’s technical knowledge by developing white papers and technical design documentation; submit technical papers and designs for publishing. Collaborate with sales to create proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs); review drafts for compliance with regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential clients to review design needs. Attend conferences and events to raise visibility of the firm’s products and services in collaboration with sales staff. Performs Other Duties As Required.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor staff and develop them for growth; may supervise the work of junior engineers on projects. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional Engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required (10% travel is specified). Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Expert knowledge of CAD/Drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert knowledge of engineering design principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
