During their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection, including: Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area. Traveling in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions. Enforcing protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A. Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required. Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license. Be at least 20 years old and less than 37 at the time of receiving a conditional offer of employment, unless prior federal law enforcement service qualifies for special retirement provisions. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive an offer before age 40 to continue. Carry and use a firearm, with mandatory firearm proficiency. Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye. Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear in specified ranges; ability to hear whispered voice at 15 feet without aids. Submit to drug testing before appointment and random testing during employment. Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at FLETC and 17 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center. Register with the Selective Service System or be exempt, if male and born after December 31, 1959. Additional Information
