Case Manager Bilingual - Enhanced Supervision Division
Under general supervision, the Case Manager is responsible for supervising clients' compliance with release conditions and providing information to the courts to address noncompliance. This position is located in the Enhanced Supervision Division and requires bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Case Documentation: Maintains accurate case notes documenting supervision activities and contacts.
Defendant Release and Supervision: Informs newly released defendants about rules and conditions of release, ensures understanding of obligations, enforces release conditions, and creates individualized supervision plans to support compliance.
Vendor Oversight and Community Collaboration: Initiates, verifies, and monitors services defendants receive from vendors; collaborates with criminal justice and human services agencies, legal community representatives, and others to achieve department goals.
Defendant Assessment and Case Management: Screens defendants to determine need for support referrals; administers screenings for substance use; reviews drug test, electronic monitoring, and alcohol monitoring reports to assess activity and compliance.
Court Reporting: Provides information to the court about violations and makes recommendations for sanctions or alternatives to incarceration; testifies in court when required.
Reporting: Documents and maintains information needed to prepare monthly reports.
Customer Service: Responds to inquiries from defendants and the public about the pretrial process; supports call center, monitoring unit, and courts as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Counseling, or a closely related field from an accredited university or college, or a Bachelor's degree in any field with either (a) one (1) year of full-time paid experience in a Criminal Justice setting or (b) two (2) years of volunteer experience in a Criminal Justice or Social Sciences setting.

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Knowledge of the local criminal justice system
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to organize tasks and set priorities
Excellent documentation skills
Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
Demonstrated tolerance for diverse populations
Licensure
Valid driver’s license (Texas upon hire)
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain clearance based on a criminal history background check
Evidence of a TB skin test prior to employment; yearly TB screening required
Personal transportation for job use
Drug screening after conditional offer of employment
Criminal background check with fingerprinting for positions with CJIS access or related areas
Automatic Disqualification
Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for any Felony, and any Class A Misdemeanor
Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for a Class B Misdemeanor within the previous 10 years
Open arrest for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor)
Family Violence conviction

General Information
Regular full-time | 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday; hours discussed during departmental interview
Occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on departmental needs
Salary
$27.00 hourly
Based on 26 pay periods

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Office environment with contact with supervised clients; potential exposure to challenging populations
Travel between office locations may be required; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; predominantly sedentary with some standing and walking
