Overview
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). They work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership. The AIT and Assistant Manager will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager Position is a progression from the AIT position and therefore includes additional high level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared. Greet Guests

regarding store and merchandise Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise
based on Guest needs Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs
by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education
and share that with the Team Keep knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, payments, exchanges, and security practices Maintain personal sales and contribute to team presentations
using SPG Achieve personal sales metrics

in key areas Know exchange and return procedures

with the Store Manager Ensure Visual Standards and Visual Library adherence Identify merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations Provide store tours and maintain floor presentation Display new freight effectively Contribute to performance improvements via the Performance Tracker Anticipate product changes and adjust visuals Maintain visual standards on floor and backroom Operations
Maintain flexible schedule
including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts Use planners and complete Opening/Closing Checklists Observe security risks and prevent theft Follow Loss Prevention guidelines Execute POS procedures Handle Corporate Office communications Maintain positive attitude with Guests and Teammates Follow policies on payments, returns, exchanges and LP practices Navigate tools on the home page Guide non-sales positions Complete scheduled shifts and cover as needed Keep store clean, organized, and shoppable Provide feedback to leadership on merchandise handling Report policy violations and concerns confidentially Follow Buckle Code of Ethics and policies Perform other duties as assigned Complete New Hire paperwork per HR guidelines Planning (week/month/year) Open/close checklist training Handle markdowns, pulls, freight, recalls, RTVs Maintain relationships with Corporate Office Manage inventory of supplies Respond to emergencies in Store Manager’s absence per guidelines Supervisory and Leadership
