Position Overview The Floor Technician, using specialized power equipment, is responsible for maintaining floors in various areas, including offices, patient rooms, corridors, lobbies, and cafeterias. Responsibilities include stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting of hard surface and carpeted floors.
Primary Duties
Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment prior to use.
Secure work areas and post safety notices before beginning work.
Perform floor care tasks such as mopping, buffing, and burnishing.
Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
Clean walls and dust high and low surfaces.
Perform routine restroom and office/classroom cleaning.
Maintain floor care equipment.
Conduct terminal cleaning with UV machines in ORs, patient rooms, and public areas, including using electronic tablets for cycle initiation and data collection.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; relevant experience may substitute.
At least 1 year of experience or completion of the DES Floor Tech training program.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
Ability to follow instructions.
Knowledge of floor stripping, waxing, burnishing, and operation of cleaning equipment.
Understanding of chemical safety and MSDS sheets.
Additional Details Salary range: $17.938 - $26.138
