Overview
Facilities Supervisor - Full Time - Days at Lower Keys Medical Center, Key West, FL. Location: 5900 College Rd, Key West, FL. Day Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm ET. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the hospital's physical infrastructure and grounds to ensure all building systems are functioning optimally. Lead and coordinate a team of facilities staff, maintenance technicians, and contractors; ensure compliance with safety regulations. Manage preventive maintenance schedules and respond to facility-related emergencies in a timely and effective manner. Monitor facilities structures and equipment; document work, materials used, time required, and maintain clean tools, equipment, and storage areas. Ensure proper handling of equipment, supplies, and inventory; adhere to established labeling, dating, and disposal guidelines. Provide basic customer/patient services within facilities maintenance and communicate with caregivers regarding changes or requests. Support orientation, instruction and training of maintenance personnel, vendors and students; participate in educational activities and meetings. Assist in department quality assurance and improvement efforts; comply with department, regulatory and facility policies, procedures and regulations. Assist in staffing planning, shift assignments, and communication of changes to the maintenance team; assess staff skills for appropriate roles and delegate maintenance tasks accordingly. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Associate Degree or post-secondary vocational education or specialized maintenance program in industrial or facilities maintenance preferred. 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or a similar role in a healthcare setting required. Industrial and/or commercial facilities maintenance or construction experience at journeyman skill level. Working familiarity with JCAHO accreditation standards and healthcare facilities preferred. 1-2 years supervisory or lead technician experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Reading and writing ability at approximately eighth grade level. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong verbal and written communication and scheduling skills. Ability to prioritize tasks in relation to patient care duties. Ability to collaborate with department staff to ensure continuity of patient care with minimal service interruption. Licenses and Certifications
Notary License or Notary Public designation preferred. Seniority level
