Overview
Colliers Project Leaders is currently looking for a Commissioning & Energy Project Manager to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Colliers Project Leaders delivers real energy savings in buildings, spaces, and systems that perform optimally and maximize comfort and safety. This role is responsible for ensuring that all systems are designed, installed, tested, and maintained to meet project requirements, industry standards, and client quality objectives within a data center environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in MEP systems, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide Cx/EBCx services through all phases (design, construction, and post-occupancy; planning, investigation, implementation, turnover, and persistence) for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
Implement and oversee QA/QC protocols throughout construction to ensure systems meet company and industry standards.
Review and maintain documentation including commissioning plans, test procedures, checklists, drawing redlines, and final reports.
Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs to validate performance and installation of systems.
Perform field reviews throughout construction to document adherence to design specifications and best practices.
Identify and troubleshoot installation and performance-related issues; escalate and track corrective actions through to resolution.
Work closely with construction, operations, design, and facilities teams to drive reliable and efficient systems.
Manage projects to completion, on-time, within budget, and within scope of work and are able to independently produce reports, summaries, and briefings.
Lead communications within a project team and successfully manage multiple clients at once.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, facilities engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years of relevant experience in commissioning, quality, or MEP engineering, preferably in mission-critical/data center environments.
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, power distribution, UPS, generators, BMS, EPMS).
Familiarity with ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, NETA, and other relevant standards.
Ability to read/understand technical materials (i.e. drawings, specs, etc.).
Demonstrated experience in problem solving, planning and organizing, and decision-making.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), facilitation, and teamwork capabilities.
Willingness to travel and support on-site field activities as needed.
EIT or PE preferred.
ACP or CCP preferred.
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
