Overview

We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer with extensive experience in instrumentation used for final control, monitoring and safety of Gas Plants, NGL Fractionation Plants, Refineries, petrochemical plants, pipelines and distribution facilities, to join the Process Automation and Systems Division within the Process & Control Systems Department. Process and Control Systems Department provides services in process engineering, automation, new energy, and digitalization to various entities within Aramco. The Instrumentation Engineer will provide instrumentation engineering expertise to Aramco entities, including designing, developing, installing, and troubleshooting. You will work with operating sites, instrumentation engineering, facility planning, and project management, and participate in safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development and other required programs. Responsibilities

Provide support with all types of instrumentation including level, temperature, pressure, control valves, Emergency Isolation Valves, Motor Operated Valves, Relief Valves, flow measurement, level gauges, etc. Originate and carry out engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce cost, and improve process safety. Lead or participate in task teams assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific technical problems. Undertake special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations. Develop and maintain Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards, Material Specifications, Procedures and Best Practices to enhance profitability, safety, and productivity by applying industry codes and standards relevant to instrumentation and control. Review and evaluate vendor and contractor capabilities to determine acceptability for major services to Saudi Aramco. Act as a company representative in technical dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and design firms. Perform technical evaluation for instrumentation quotations and participate in technical bid evaluation meetings. Evaluate and introduce best practices and new technologies to achieve Best in Class performance in oil and gas. Perform cost analyses and value engineering studies to recommend cost-effective solutions to technical issues. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical). A Master’s or PhD is desirable but not required. Minimum 20 years of professional experience in the field of instrumentation engineering. Experience with a major international Oil & Gas company or with instrument manufacturers used by the company is desired. Experience in plant instrumentation sizing and selection (Control valves, Pressure relief valves, Actuators, basic process measurement, etc.). Certifications such as ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), TUV FSEng, Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE), Chartered Engineer (CE) or equivalent. Knowledge of H2S, LEL, pH, conductivity, O2 and CO/CO2 analyzers, fire & gas detectors, and gas chromatographs is preferred. Proficiency in international codes and standards for oil and gas (API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.). Experience as lead engineer in HAZOP, SIL, P&ID, design, and model reviews. Understanding of control systems, field instrumentation for compressors and pumps, speed controllers, Vibration Monitoring Systems (VMS), and Compressor Control Systems (CCS). Understanding of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, RP570, ANSI) and general process automation protocols. Active membership in a relevant professional society (e.g., ISA, IEEE) for at least 3 years and current membership. Seniority level
