The Instructor for Gateway Programs is a passionate, motivated individual who loves to work with and teach youth, provides a great customer experience, and wants to grow in the climbing community. The position involves top rope belaying for children and sometimes adults, facilitating games and activities, and managing risks for participants during our youth programs. Programs include week-long camps, AfterSchool programs, parties, and other events as needed. Part-time instructors primarily work with youth ages 4–17 for 2–4 hours per class, depending on the program. Prior climbing experience is not required—we are excited to train individuals who are eager to learn. Job Responsibilities

Provide a supervised and controlled environment during all youth and other programs. Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities while demonstrating empathy and compassion. Provide excellent customer service for all guests by seeking answers and solutions to questions. Teach climbing skills from provided curricula and create inclusive spaces that foster belonging. Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers and supervisors about feedback and concerns. Speak openly and honestly; ask for help when needed and learn from mistakes. Develop skills to effectively communicate with others and listen to different perspectives to build partnerships. Job Requirements

Have a passion for climbing, yoga, or fitness, or an interest in engaging with our community, and demonstrate a growth mindset with a willingness to learn. Demonstrate openness to learn from others and collaborate to achieve goals. Interest in working with both children and adults to support transformative, purpose-driven experiences. Maintains a relentlessly positive and upbeat attitude to inspire others. Prior experience working with youth is preferred but not required. Ability to work 6–10 hours per week, primarily on weekday afternoons and/or weekends. Ability to work a complete Summer Camp or AfterSchool Program (Summer Camps are typically Monday–Friday; AfterSchool programs run for 4, 6, or 8 consecutive weeks on the same day). Additional Information

This is a part-time position. Starting pay range is $19.17 to $19.50 per hour, with flexibility based on experience. Benefits include free membership, in-gym discounts, guest visits, and pro-deals. New hires will complete a screening process. Shift times may vary from week to week or month to month.
