Position: 2025/26 CE Childcare Associate I - Pre-K & Mascot - Grayhawk ES Location: Grayhawk Elementary School Grade: 15 | $16.48/hour | Non-Interim Position Duration: 9 months, 6 hours/day Dates: 08/01/2025 - 5/22/2025 Hours: 11:00 am - 5:30 am Responsibilities

Administers first aid for the purpose of providing immediate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured children. Assists students as needed with (e.g., diapering, toilet training, feeding, etc.) for the purpose of addressing personal care needs. Assists the site manager with age-appropriate activities by working with individual or small groups of children (e.g., games, art, music, science, language, nutrition, playground, washing hands, etc.) for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Communicates with internal for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information required to perform job functions. Completes a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually for the purpose of meeting mandated requirements per Department of Health Services regulations. Distributes instructional and/or play materials for the purpose of providing required supplies. Establishes positive individual relationships for the purpose of building student confidence and self esteem. Implements under the supervision of assigned site manager, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and manual and electronic files and records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items; providing written reference; providing a safe, comfortable, supportive learning environment; and/or meeting mandated requirements. Maintains acceptable behavior standards for the purpose of ensuring that behavior is consistent with district and program policy. Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g., snack time, group or individual games, playground activities, quiet time, field trips, classroom, homework time, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment. Organizes quiet or active, age appropriate indoor and/or outdoor activities for the purpose of actively participating in the learning activities with children. Prepares nutritional snacks, lunches, bottles, etc. for the purpose of complying with established guidelines. Provides ongoing feedback for the purpose of informing supervisor, teacher, and parents of students' progress. Transfers children directly from/to parents or designee for the purpose of ensuring safety of children and meeting the District requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Qualifications

Preparing and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge:

Basic math; read and follow instructions; understand multi-step written and oral instructions; knowledge of stages of child development; methods of motivating and controlling children; awareness of codes, regulations and laws related to counseling students. Abilities:

Schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility to work with others; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; maintain confidentiality; adapt to changing priorities; work as part of a team. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Responsibility:

Responsibilities include: working with immediate supervision; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization’s services. Work Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 0% sitting, 0% walking, and 0% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness and in a clean atmosphere. FLSA Status:
