Assists with optimizing and maintaining partnerships with key regional transportation and mobility, alternative vehicle fueling/powering organizations. Assists with seeking and applying for grant funding and other leverageable sources.

Responsibilities

Monitors, manages, and analyzes fuel consumption utilizing data from fuel management systems, fuel and electric vehicle charge card vendors and gps systems for the county fleet; monitors fuel costs and usage trends and prepares reports and analytics on fuel usage, efficiency and cost saving opportunities. Identifies and supports initiatives to reduce environmental impact of fleet operations; promotes the use of alternative fuels and clean and energy efficient vehicles; assists with the analysis and identification of optimum charging and clean technology station locations for county fleet. Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of sustainability programs. Assists with clean technology grant research and application process. Monitors and assists with developing fuel and vehicle replacement budgets.; identifies cost-saving opportunities and implements strategies to reduce fuel expenses; tracks fuel prices and market trends to optimize fuel operation decisions and emergency storage options. Works with fleet operations to improve county fleet fuel efficiency. Recommends and implements fuel saving technologies and practices. Analyze vehicle performance data to identify areas for improvement, return on investment and transition to vehicle alternative power technology. Assists with managing fuel inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and participates in the process of overseeing fuel purchasing and acquisition processes. Ensures regulatory compliance with local, state and federal fuel regulations. Maintains essential databases and accurate records of fuel transactions. Ensures adherence to fuel storage and handling safety regulations. Conducts site/compliance audits and inspections of fueling (traditional and alternative) facilities and equipment to include generators. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training:

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related field of study. Two (2) years of experience in fuel management, fleet, sustainability, environmental, renewable energy industry or work-related field.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Skill in data analysis and interpretation. Skill in data analysis tools and software. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Ability to collaborate with the staff. Knowledge of standard office productivity applications. Skill in financial acumen and project management capabilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the public. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. /

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Primarily office-based with extensive us of a computer and other technology. May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds assisted or unassisted. Occasional visits to fueling/charging sites with exposure to heat, fuel and chemical fumes. May be required to respond to fuel related emergencies or issues outside of working hours. Seniority level
