FACETS is looking for a mission-driven person to join our team as the Young Adult Program Coordinator within the Education and Community Development (ECD) department, which runs four community development centers. The coordinator will engage and support youth and young adults who are disconnected from school or the workforce, through outreach and relationship-building with local schools, employers and community organizations across Fairfax County. The role includes helping participants access resources, guidance and opportunities to reconnect with educational pathways, provide career counseling, and support them in pursuing self-identified academic and professional goals to achieve long-term stability in education and employment. The position will work across four community centers in Annandale, Centreville and Fairfax. About The Organization:

Collaborate with Fairfax County Public Schools and other partners to identify and connect with disconnected youth and young adults within the Annandale, Fairfax and Centreville communities. Assist youth with career exploration and development and self-identifying goals such as furthering education or developing specific skills. Facilitate access to job skills training, certifications, and employment opportunities such as ESOL, health and medical careers and apprenticeship/trade industry. Assist with the organization and facilitation of career readiness workshops, job fairs, and engagement events with local business leaders. Provide guidance on educational pathways, including high school diploma, GED, Adult Community Education (ACE) classes, and postsecondary education. Encourage youth to participate in leadership opportunities and program design. Promote youth civic engagement through community projects and restorative justice practices. Ensure access to technology and online training programs at FACETS community development centers, supporting youth in using digital tools for learning and career development. Maintain and manage resources, including laptops, software, and other equipment. Foster a supportive and motivating environment and support youth in overcoming challenges and achieving self-sufficiency. Provide referrals to county programs and services to address barriers such as housing, healthcare, childcare, and transportation. Provide basic case management when needed, including assessment, goal setting, and linking to private and public resources. Assist with securing necessary items like clothing and transportation to assist with interviews and job readiness. Work collaboratively and build strong relationships with nonprofit community-based organizations and other partners. Engage with local stakeholders to enhance program outcomes and sustainability. Match youth with adult mentors and facilitate peer-to-peer mentoring. Represents FACETS and the ECD program in the community, in accord with Agency Mission, Vision and Code of Ethics. Required Skills And Abilities
Possess a bachelor's degree in social work, education, community development, or a related field, or have relevant experience. Work Monday - Thursday 12pm - 8pm and Saturdays 9am - 4pm. Group facilitation, outreach and strong interpersonal/communication skills (written and verbal). Experience supporting and working with youth and young adults. Demonstrated success building effective relationships. Enthusiastic self-starter. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong time and task management skills. Strong computer, Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office equipment skills. Must pass criminal and Child Protective Services background check. Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to attend occasional meetings at other FACETS office locations within Fairfax County, including 3 annual organization-wide fundraising events each year. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance. Salary Range
$45,000 - $50,000 annually. Benefits
