We deliver bespoke products and world-class service before and after claims. We are seeking a data-focused, detail-oriented actuarial student to join our Casualty Pricing team. The role provides experience in actuarial pricing for admitted and non-admitted casualty products and opportunities to collaborate with various insurance functions. This position is supported by the company’s Actuarial Study Program. Responsibilities
Assist in creating and running actuarial reports and supporting and/or driving multiple actuarial analyses, including updating rate adequacy monitoring reports, conducting portfolio mix analyses, and supporting line of business profitability studies Create and/or update analytical templates based on commonly accepted actuarial techniques Research insurance trends and rates for competitive analysis Assist in rate filings to support admitted products Collaborate with other functional areas across Ascot US to improve data quality and consistency Build relationships with underwriting business partners and develop analytical tools to support underwriters in making better business decisions Qualifications
At least 4 actuarial exams and desire to pursue ACAS/FCAS designation Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience, with at least 2 years in relevant actuarial pricing and casualty lines Experience coding in SQL, VBA, or R/Python This position may be filled at a different level, depending on experience Compensation
Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is one component of Ascot’s total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and other discretionary compensation. The annualized base pay range for this role in New York Metro is: $95,000 - $130,000 Benefits
