We are seeking a creative, strategic Actuary for E&S Energy Liability to develop and enhance pricing and portfolio management tools to support profitable business and to deliver the best for AXA XL’s customers. What you’ll be doing: Ensure that E&S Energy Liability has market leading, technical pricing and portfolio management capabilities and be responsible for the delivery of those capabilities. Provide decision making guidance throughout the entire underwriting process, using advanced analytics to drive stellar business performance. Develop and leverage product pricing methodologies (aligned to global strategies and methodologies) including pricing algorithms, pricing parameters, pricing change impact analysis, and advanced pricing techniques. Support development, testing and calibration of Pricing tools, alongside Models team. Lead efforts in micro portfolio management activities including selection of base loss ratio for business planning, profitability studies & deep dives, dashboard maintenance, and post-event loss evaluations. Engage closely with Underwriting, Reserving and Claims, to improve pricing accuracy. Ensure compliance with Pricing Model Standards. Maintain required model documentation and enforce pricing model governance. Support reinsurance purchasing with data and analysis. Provide guidance on net calculations for planning, limits reporting, reserving, etc. You will report to the Head of Pricing, E&S. What you’ll bring: Extensive experience of non-life insurance pricing Qualification level - Qualified; ACAS or FCAS Designation Robust Influencing and Negotiating Skills Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field. Leadership skills to work collaboratively with colleagues to build consensus. Outstanding verbal communications skills to gain buy-in to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external clients. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
