Timely field visits to loss sites to conduct cause and origin investigations. Provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various fires and explosions. Field studies and research on a daily basis. Travel within a 100-mile radius from the assigned office; longer travel or overnight travel may be required depending on workload. Interact with clients and handle sensitive and confidential information. Write and submit detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner per company guidelines. Communicate with customers to provide timelines and project updates. Provide expert testimony and/or depositions as needed. Willingness to work a flexible schedule during peak periods. Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications

Must have CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred). Must hold or obtain a Private Investigator License in the assigned state within 60 days of employment (if applicable). Must be familiar with NFPA 921. Must meet NFPA 1033 qualification requirements for fire investigators. Previous expert testimony or deposition experience is highly preferred but not required. Degree or some college coursework is preferred but not required. At least 2 years of hands-on experience performing fire origin and cause investigations on residential and/or commercial structures. Strong organization with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround times. Ability to manage multiple projects, including during high-stress periods. Hands-on and able to climb ladders and roofs, crawl in tight spaces, etc., as needed. Adherence to safety protocols and job safety analyses (JSAs). Meet all standards for pre-employment physical examination. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team-oriented and service-oriented mindset. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Superior customer service skills. Commitment to ethical business practices. Experience with writing detailed investigation reports is highly preferred. Excellent overall computer skills and proficiency. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel and/or work a flexible schedule during peak demand. Willingness to work remotely and from a home office. Employee-provided, high-speed internet access at a remote office is required. Physical Requirements

Frequently able to stand for prolonged periods. Frequently required to lift and/or move objects up to 100 lbs. Frequently required to climb onto roofs, ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to spend extended periods operating a motor vehicle. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
