Overview
Location: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Washington Join EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team as a Climate Risk Modeling Senior Manager. This role focuses on helping businesses and governments respond to societal, environmental, and economic challenges by evaluating value impacts and outcomes across organizations, operations, programs, and projects. Our multidisciplinary team includes strategists, engineers, data analysts, and other technical experts working to solve ESG and climate change problems and help clients manage risks and reduce costs through systems and processes in areas such as climate change, green and sustainable finance, health and safety, labor rights, nonfinancial reporting, supply chain, and environmental management. As a Senior Manager, you will contribute to our growth across industries, develop strategic goals, and deliver exceptional client experiences by listening to and understanding client needs. There are no off-the-shelf recommendations in this role. Your key responsibilities
The nature of this role means no two projects are the same. You will think on your feet, challenge existing practices, and develop solutions to complex issues. Collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues across multiple service lines to build relationships and identify opportunities for clients to benefit from our knowledge in other areas. Meet with key clients, with regular travel as required. Skills and attributes for success
Provide clients with strategic, technical, and reporting expertise on climate challenges including decarbonization, risk, emissions measurement, and reporting Collaborate with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy, balance risk, and manage client expectations Ensure engagement teams thoroughly understand client needs, ambitions, and expectations Build relationships across service lines to deliver integrated services Manage performance and identify opportunities to improve products and processes Coordinate multiple workstreams to deliver high-quality deliverables and foster a high-performance culture Consulting mindset with ability to solve complex problems through research and data analysis, synthesize insights for executive decisions, and communicate with senior leaders Assist with generating new business opportunities, industry networks, and relationships focused on climate change and decarbonization Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Climate Science, Physics, Environmental Economics, or related discipline; 8+ years of relevant experience Experience in sustainability topics such as climate megatrends, net-zero decarbonization, GHG inventories, data management, TCFD disclosures, renewable energy, scope 3 decarbonization, and carbon offsets/markets Experience with climate risk modeling, scenario analysis, and adaptation/mitigation Strong technical writing and risk management knowledge Proficiency with MS Excel and modeling; ability to develop BI dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI Experience in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and/or TAS Ability to travel and work non-standard hours when necessary; access to reliable transportation and driver’s license recommended Preferred qualifications
PhD in Climate Science, Physics, Environmental Economics, or related discipline Licenses or advanced certifications relevant to your profession Experience with net-zero and science-based target decarbonization strategies Cross-sector experience (emissions management, decarbonization, or climate risk); bilingual English/Spanish preferred What we look for
