Senior Analyst / Associate, ABS Structured Finance Ratings
Role overview: S&P Global Ratings is seeking an experienced analyst to join its Structured Finance Ratings practice which provides credit ratings and opinions for securitizations backed by ABS assets. The Associate will be responsible for the end-to-end rating process, research, cash flow, credit, and structural analytics, and client-facing activities for new issue ratings and surveillance of ABS transactions backed by consumer and commercial assets. Responsibilities Analyze credit quality of collateral pools, review performance data, credit models, underwriting criteria, and macroeconomic and sector factors. Complete the end-to-end ratings process for new issue transactions and the surveillance of outstanding transactions. Perform cash flow analysis and synthesize results for rating committees in a timely manner. Review legal and operating documents to ensure criteria compliance and identify issues with the transaction structure; provide feedback to external parties. Actively manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors; effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures; participate in client meetings. Prepare written and oral presentations for rating committees; make recommendations and participate in committee deliberations. Draft press releases and presale reports. Collaborate with internal teams to manage publication of ratings and reports to external audiences. Work on special projects as directed by the analytical team manager. Impact This role blends research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, client-facing interactions, and project management. Daily tasks include completing end-to-end ratings, reviewing documents, assessing collateral pools, and conducting cash flow analyses under various economic scenarios to determine rating impacts. The Associate is expected to participate in credit rating committees and interact with bankers, issuers, and investors on analytical matters. Qualifications Basic Qualifications An undergraduate degree is required A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience Prior credit analysis experience, including banking Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic Strong proficiency with Excel, financial models, and financial data Strong understanding of financial markets and their relationship to S&P products Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to analyze and solve non-routine problems and manage deadlines under time pressure Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team Preferred Qualifications MBA or CFA Location : New York, NY | Englewood, CO Right to Work
