About The Role
We’re scaling our TikTok Shop capabilities and are hiring a Director of Accounts to lead client strategy and relationships across our growing portfolio. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for our brand partners, overseeing campaign performance, cross-functional execution, and client satisfaction on one of the world’s fastest-evolving commerce platforms.
Darkroom is expanding its Social Commerce capabilities and seeking a Director of Accounts, TikTok Shop to lead strategy, performance, and client relationships for our portfolio of TikTok Shop brand partners. In this role, you will oversee a book of accounts, ensuring each brand’s TikTok Shop presence is optimized for growth, profitability, and long-term success.
You will own client relationships while building a team of account leads; fostering trust with brand stakeholders, guiding strategic decisions, and ensuring cross-functional execution with cross-functional teams. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creator knowledge, platform expertise, and team leadership — with a focus on delivering measurable GMV growth and campaign impact in a fast-moving agency environment.
Responsibilities:
Own Client Relationships: Serve as the strategic lead and day-to-day contact for TikTok Shop clients, ensuring alignment across goals, performance, and brand positioning.
Drive Account Growth: Identify upsell opportunities and collaborate with leadership to expand client scope based on evolving business needs and marketplace trends.
Oversee Execution: Partner with Strategists, Creator Managers, and Media teams to manage seamless campaign rollouts, from launch to optimization.
Performance Leadership: Monitor client GMV, campaign KPIs, and affiliate performance; translate insights into action through structured reporting and strategy pivots.
Cross-functional Leadership: Act as the connective tissue across internal teams—Strategy, Creative, Creator, and Paid—to deliver cohesive, high-impact campaigns.
Market Expertise: Stay ahead of TikTok Shop innovations, tools, and competitive shifts to inform strategic planning and client education.
Team Management: Mentor and manage a growing team of Account Managers and/or Associates to ensure delivery excellence across all client touchpoints.
Requirements:
5+ years in account management, client strategy, or brand partnerships, ideally in social commerce, influencer marketing, or performance marketing and 3+ years in a leadership or management position.
Minimum 1 year of experience managing TikTok Shop brands
Deep understanding of TikTok Shop, social commerce, and creator/influencer dynamics.
Experience owning client relationships, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering against performance metrics.
Highly organized, with strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
A strategic thinker with a client-first mindset and a passion for driving measurable growth.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple stakeholders.
