The Data Scientist will support the development of analytic solutions across Medical Surgical at McKesson and will work closely with multiple business units such as Treasury, FP&A, Operations, and Pricing to apply data science methodologies to interdisciplinary business problems across Finance, Operations, Accounting, and Supply Chain. The purpose of this position is to architect, implement, drive adoption, and measure the impact of innovative analytic solutions at McKesson, as well as make significant improvements to existing solutions. Responsibilities

Develop and implement advanced machine learning solutions to support new business initiatives and facilitate next best actions. Architect and lead the implementation of driverless forecasting systems, leveraging best data science practices and technologies. Perform advanced analytics to create insights that provide meaningful results. Design and implement algorithms for object detection, recognition, tracking, NLP, text generation, and language translation. Develop inventory optimization / multi-echelon simulation framework for supply chain, including time series models using techniques such as SARIMA, Prophet, Holt-Winters, Transformers. Extract, analyze, and interpret large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources. Guide the deployment of statistical models in production and build prototypes for rapid delivery to explore different business solutions. Support FP&A’s need for statistical modeling and forecasting. Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent; typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience. Industry Experience: 3+ years data science / analytics / programming. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related quantitative / STEM majors). Master’s and/or PhD preferred. Critical Skills

Ability to tackle problems across the full data stack, from data wrangling to stakeholder consumption at scale. Deep knowledge of machine learning / data science techniques. Programming in Python and SQL. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong grasp of statistical concepts: forecasting, reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, regression, A/B testing, cluster analysis, outlier analysis, probability distributions, tests for independence, etc. Experience solving problems at scale leveraging cloud platforms and relational databases. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy and pay will be compliant with applicable regulations.
