Job Purpose:
The Director of Global Outreach is enthusiastically responsible for overseeing how members of MBC individually and collectively are making Jesus known beyond metro Washington, D.C., specifically in places that are less reached by the gospel. This leader will work in close, collaborative partnership with the Radical staff team in the accomplishment of this purpose.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements MBC’s global disciple-making strategy with particular emphasis on places outside of metro Washington, D.C., with the ultimate aim of reaching the least reached with the gospel. Oversees the mobilization and equipping of MBC members for involvement in global mission through praying, giving, and going. Creates and populates a pipeline for short-term, mid-term, and long-term sending and support of MBC members on mission beyond metro Washington, D.C. Builds a network that connects and leverages the unique opportunities MBC members have to spread the gospel among the nations. Employs the financial resources of MBC for the strengthening of the church and the spread of the gospel in places of urgent spiritual and physical need beyond metro Washington, D.C. Develops partnerships with churches, organizations, and individuals around the world with a particular focus on co-laboring with indigenous brothers and sisters in other places. Oversees and supervises Global Outreach staff and volunteer leaders. Works in close alignment with the ministry of Radical in all of the above. Personally makes disciples of all nations, modeling what zeal for and commitment to global mission looks like in action.

Leader – This position requires someone who can oversee the strategy, structures, and staff needed to implement MBC’s global disciple-making strategy. Communicator – This person is able to faithfully and effectively communicate the part God has designed every Christian to play in global mission. Doer – This person is a healthy hard worker who gets things done with joy and excellence. Biblically, Theologically, Ecclesiologically, and Missiologically Wise – This person has a strong grasp of the biblical and theological foundations for mission and applies those foundations faithfully to the building up of the church and the spread of the gospel to the nations. Personally and Practically Compassionate and Christlike – This person exemplifies the humility, integrity, kindness, compassion, and servant leadership of Jesus.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to read, speak, and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the Director is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, kneel, and lift. The Director required to be able to lift and carry items that can weigh 25 pounds or more for short distances. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
