This is a highly technical role, providing post-sales on-site support of Juniper Network products. The Ft. Meade, MD based Advanced Services Resident Engineer will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the products deployed within the customer\'s network. The Ft. Ideal candidate must have Internet Service Provider experience, providing implementation and technical support of networking products Experience in Service Provider backbone VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, pseudowire, etc.) US Citizenship Required DOD Secret clearance required Daily On Site Support - Ft. Meade, Maryland, USA (Not a remote or hybrid role) This is a 40 hour per week position, on-site at and may require occasional travel, up to 10%, after hours, and on-call support for critical issues which will be compensated with comp time. Responsibilities

Serve as SME on Juniper products and technologies. Understand the customer’s organizational structure, become familiar with customer\'s network implementation, and support procedures and help drive to the highest level of network availability. Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and help develop implementation plans to ensure proper operation in live production network. Validate patches and fixes to operating system software that ensure they are implemented and functioning correctly in pre-production, test, and live networks. Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and initiate and track JTAC cases through to problem resolution. Produce written summary reports of design projects, equipment, and network problems on a regular basis to the customer. Hold network information gathering workshops with the customer to understand their existing network design and technical requirements for new network deployments. Train the customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel to configure and operate their Juniper Networks products. Peer with other employees performing similar resident engineering roles where lessons learned may help minimize risk associated with major network upgrades or changes in the network. Develop secondary skills in other products in the customer network. Qualifications

Strong Interpersonal skills Detailed technical experience in the installation and operation of routers, switches, and firewalls. This includes hands-on operation of management tools and network analyzers. Detailed understanding of the service provider protocols surrounding IP networks (TCP/IP, RSVP, Segment Routing, etc.). Experience in network routing protocol troubleshooting (BGP, IS-IS, and MPLS). Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN). The ability to function in a team environment and recognize and take on tasks with self-direction. The ability to communicate well within the Juniper team and articulate customer problems before they become major issues. Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Juniper products. Knowledge And Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following competencies: 5+ years experience in a large service provider network. Primary platforms focus: EX, MX, SRX, and QFX products Unix/Linux experience Automation and scripting experience a plus JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE a strong plus Additional Skills
