Engineering at Early Warning (EWS) is a blend of teams organized around multiple platforms, capabilities and products that power core capabilities at the biggest banks in America, including ubiquitous products like Zelle and Paze. These capabilities are typically provided behind a customer-facing API or integration point, enabling teams to innovate aggressively in partnership with stakeholders. Participates in discussion and implementation around complex capabilities. Develops complex features and capabilities to enhance Early Warning core product offerings. Manage source code using Git; review and approve pull requests to ensure code quality. Query platform data using SQL-based databases. Develop and maintain Java Web Services using Spring Boot. Document complex details and decisions in Confluence. Build automated tests integrated into the CI/CD pipeline, considering environment variables and providing recommendations. Troubleshoot complex bugs arising during development. Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, electrical engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of direct experience in software engineering or related field. Proficient with Git and Git flow branching. Extensive experience with Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security). Strong understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles. Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and automated testing. Proficient with SQL and building RESTful APIs and microservices. Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS services (e.g., Kinesis/SQS). Excellent written and spoken communication. Background and drug screen required. Preferred Qualifications
Additional related education or work experience. Experience with SOAP services and data formats like XML, JSON, YAML. NoSQL experience (DynamoDB, Redis). FinTech experience. Physical and Other Requirements
Working conditions are a normal office environment. This role is primarily sedentary and involves extensive computer use. May require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Requires visual acuity and dexterity for documents and office equipment. Must be able to communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Compensation
The base pay scale for this position in Phoenix, AZ/Chicago, IL is USD 125,000–140,000 per year. In New York, NY/San Francisco, CA the scale is USD 130,000–160,000 per year. Eligible for discretionary incentive plan and benefits. Pay scales are subject to change and reflect factors including scope, location, education, experience, and internal equity.
