Overview
IT Field Support Specialist - West role at VEG ER for Pets. This field-based position requires travel to our hospitals in California and supports frontline IT operations to ensure reliable hardware, software, and network functionality, as well as onboarding new hospitals for success.
What you'll do
Partner with IT functional teams, IT Senior Management, corporate and divisional management to meet the needs of our hospitals.
Collaborate with local/regional leaders to ensure hospital needs are met.
Support departmental and business initiatives, prioritizing and executing initiatives effectively.
Represent the IT organization professionally with VEGgies and customers.
Interview for additional staff as needed to maintain high levels of customer service.
Focus on continuous IT improvements for a better customer experience.
Maintain open, proactive communication with local leaders as the point of escalation for IT issues and requests.
Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating and implementing appropriate operational measures.
Work with local staff to review and finalize specifications and project plans for infrastructure and hospital projects.
Define criteria, select, interview, and hire new Field Service resources based on local needs and required skills.
Recommend and maintain streamlined hospital technology and implement best practices.
Travel is required to support local hospitals and new hospital openings; expect 3–5 days on the road per week, including flights and driving. Weekend or holiday travel may be required for hospital openings.
What you need
Minimum 1–2 years of technical help desk support experience.
Ability to understand general technology processes and tools used in hospitals.
Proficient in Apple products and Mac OS; network experience is a plus.
Construction-related industry experience is a plus.
Ability to manage several tasks or projects at once.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexible with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines using analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to mentor and coach future direct reports to achieve high performance.
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside IT and the organization.
Self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment.
Dependable and adaptable when necessary.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to move, handle, and lift computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
