SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER - Extended Deadline
The City of Stockton Public Works Department is looking for a dynamic and skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead and oversee professional engineering work, guiding both City staff and consultants in the investigation, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of a variety of essential street, bridge, and facility type projects in the Capital Improvement Design, or Traffic Engineering sections of the Public Works Department. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll take on the most complex and rewarding engineering challenges, making a real impact on the community. You’ll supervise and manage diverse projects, ensuring the success of key infrastructure initiatives, while also advancing your career in a collaborative and innovative environment. We offer a flexible 9/80 work schedule: 9 hours Monday-Thursday, and 8 hours on every other Friday. Start and finish times are somewhat flexible with approval by a supervisor. Responsibilities: Plans, organizes and directs the activities of either the Engineering Division staff engaged in professional engineering activities for a variety of traffic and/or capital improvement projects, and related work as assigned. Supervises and manages diverse projects, ensuring the success of key infrastructure initiatives. Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a closely related field or possession of a valid California Engineer-In-Training Certificate AND five (5) years of responsible experience in design, development review or construction management of civil engineering projects, one (1) year of which was at a level equivalent to the City's class of Associate Engineer. Must possess a valid California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer. Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
