We’re expanding our RD&E team with a Development Engineer to design the next generation of high-performance, manufacturable, cost-effective fiber-optic connectors. The impact you’ll make Design & develop
advanced fiber-optic connectors and components with an emphasis on performance, manufacturability, and cost. Apply
FEA
and tolerance analysis to optimize designs and speed iteration. Collaborate with engineers and
R&D technicians
on testing, analysis, and documentation; provide updates and cross-functional technical support (Product, Sales, Manufacturing). Contribute to the community:
prepare conference papers
and maintain documentation toward
possible patent submissions . Work hands-on with
injection-molded parts, machined components, and 3D-printed prototypes
to push optical performance. What you’ll bring BS in Engineering
(Mechanical preferred) and
3–5+ years
in the fiber-optic/communications space (co-op experience counts). Working knowledge of
fiber-optic assemblies/connectors/testing
(preferred). Proficiency with
CAD ;
FEA
experience and
GD&T
familiarity are pluses. Clear, concise communicator with strong collaboration skills and the ability to translate customer needs and test results into actionable design decisions. Nice to have Exposure to
injection-molding materials
used in connector product sets. This role is based at our
Hickory HQ —about
1 hour from downtown Charlotte
and
30–40 minutes
from thriving suburbs like
