Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases The Facilities Manager oversees the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the manufacturing facility’s physical infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining buildings, equipment, utilities, and grounds to ensure optimal support for production operations, employee safety, and regulatory compliance. The Facilities Manager works closely with operations, engineering, EHS (environment, health & safety), and supply chain teams to enable smooth day-to-day manufacturing and long-term facility reliability. Annual Salary Range: $107,614 to $158,003 Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance: Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, compressed air, water treatment, etc.). Oversee repair, calibration, and replacement of production support infrastructure (boilers, chillers, waste treatment systems, forklifts, cranes, etc.). Manage service contracts, outside vendors, and contractors for facility repairs and capital projects. Safety, Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure facilities comply with OSHA, EPA, fire codes, and other regulatory requirements. Partner with the EHS team to implement safety programs, audits, and corrective actions. Develop sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation). Maintain emergency response readiness (fire systems, evacuation plans, backup power). Capital Planning & Budget Management: Develop and manage annual facilities budgets, including OPEX and CAPEX. Prepare business cases for upgrades, renovations, and expansions. Control costs through vendor negotiations, energy management, and optimized maintenance practices. Manufacturing Support: Coordinate with production leadership to minimize downtime from facility issues. Support installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment by ensuring facility readiness. Provide facilities input into capacity planning, layout changes, and expansion projects. People & Vendor Management: Lead a team of maintenance technicians and support staff; Manage external contractors for janitorial, landscaping, waste management, and building security; Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred). 7+ years of experience in facilities management or plant engineering in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. Proven track record in budgeting, vendor management, and project execution. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience preferred. Professional certifications (CFM, FMP, PMP, or equivalent) a plus. Strategic planning and operational execution. Strong problem-solving under time constraints. Cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, and EHS. Focus on safety, reliability, and cost control.
