Overview
The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for managing sales and business operations within their assigned regional territory. The DOS manages a team of Regional Sales Managers, each of which has sales and support responsibility for their assigned geographical territory. Qualifications
Sales executive with ten or more years of sales and territory management experience and at least two years working in a sales staff management capacity. Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach. Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills. Ability and willingness to travel extensively via air and automobile. Self-motivated; capable of working without direct supervision. Accept and benefit from constructive criticism. Regional Performance to Sales Goal
Exceed sales revenue goal as defined in the current business plan for the region.
Regional Staffing & Organization
Maintain staffing of all Regional Sales Manager (RSM) positions in the region of responsibility with qualified, productive, best in territory personnel. Each RSM in the region maintains a productive DMP Sales Pipeline and continuously pursues new dealer prospects and all-in opportunities. Each RSM in the region prepares goals and business plans for developing incremental revenue with top dealers and prospects in the territory. Each RSM represents DMP following published company Mission & Values and in compliance with all company policies and departmental guidelines.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
The specific task responsibility is to produce top-line sales revenue as outlined in the current Business Plan for the region. The sales goals will vary from year to year consistent with the DMP corporate business plan. General Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company\'s strategic goals. Ensure that both top-line objectives and expense budget objectives are managed and met. Work directly with the Vice President of Sales to establish strategies, tactics, and go-to-market plans for sales for the entire company. Maintain a high level of communication with direct reports and work with other departments to ensure overall company success. Develop, maintain and improve business relations with our customers. Keep leadership informed by preparing, reviewing, and submitting activity regional reports, pipeline reports, and regional analyses. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to leadership. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Observes and adheres to DMP Data Classification Standards.
