We have a near term need for a Naval Architect for upcoming support to the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), located at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. PEO USC, through affiliated program offices, designs, procures, and builds the Navy’s unmanned surface and undersea systems delivering the capabilities needed to support a range of fleet operations in the at the best cost-efficient value. Overview

SPA has a near term need for a Naval Architect to design, build, and maintain Unmanned Systems (UxSs) in PMS 406's portfolio. This role will use knowledge of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, flotation and stability, structures, arrangements, and construction, and cost and survivability assessment to synthesize the often conflicting demands from competing design constraints to determine the most balanced designs for UxSs. Responsibilities

This Naval Architect will design, build, and maintain Unmanned Systems (UxSs) in PMS 406's portfolio. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: At least 10 years of professional experience Top Secret Security Clearance Bachelor's level degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering Desired Qualifications: 15 or more years of professional experience in Naval Architecture Relevant mechanical engineering experience with DoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process) Washington, D.C. Pay Range: 145-180k and higher for exceptionally qualified individuals.
