FTEAS provides fiduciary/court accounting services for trusts and estates serving banks, law firms, family offices, and individual and professional trustees throughout the United States. The Senior Manager is part of the leadership team and plays an integral role in the overall strategy and success of the FTEAS business.
Responsibilities include:
Technical review of complex trust & estate fiduciary accountings.
Managing client relationships.
Business development.
Supervision, training, and development of staff.
Recruiting.
Maximizing operating efficiency.
Maintaining profitability.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Technical review of complex trust and estate accountings.
Managing teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of work products to clients.
Managing client relationships and retaining client goodwill.
Actively participating in business development.
Building relationships with potential new clients.
Committing to client satisfaction.
Providing estimates for new accounting work and preparing required documentation.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal EY groups.
Facilitating communications and providing assistance to team members.
Developing operational efficiencies.
Contributing to a flexible, stable, and team-oriented working culture.
Completing self-study courses to maintain and enhance knowledge.
Reviewing and monitoring engagement profitability and staff efficiency.
Skills & Attributes for success:
Decisions made by the Senior Manager include review of accountings, interpretation of trust documents, and development of processes.
Providing pricing estimates and monitoring engagement and staff for efficiencies.
Responsible for compliance with EY practices and procedures.
Utilizing technical knowledge and industry experience to review and provide final sign-off on accountings.
To qualify for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
CPA, EA, licensed Attorney, Professional Fiduciary, or CTFA certification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent technical fiduciary accounting skills.
Experienced at reviewing complex accountings and IRS Forms 706, 1041, and K-1s.
Understanding of complex investments and tax concepts.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Strong client interaction skills.
Strong business development skills.
Proficient with software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and company-specific systems.
