Job Summary and Qualifications

The Consulting Machine Learning Engineer is responsible for developing and integrating machine learning models and pre-trained APIs with Parallon Data Engineering’s large-scale data ecosystems and business use cases, including data management and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights and unlock the value of enterprise technology and data platform investments. The role serves multiple business units, including coding/clinical data and Revenue Cycle, and requires strong knowledge of cloud and data/ML platforms to identify practical solutions that meet business needs. The candidate will report to the Manager of Data Engineering and collaborate with data scientists and data engineers, with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork. This role is customer-facing with ongoing interaction with clinical and business customers to define questions, explore solutions, and present results.

Major Responsibilities

Apply NLP techniques for text representation, semantic extraction, data structures, modeling, and natural language understanding. Design and develop NLP applications on Google Cloud and data platforms leveraging Vertex AI, LLMs, and Doc AI. Transform data science prototypes for production use. Select appropriate annotated datasets for supervised learning. Convert natural language into useful features using effective text representations. Implement suitable algorithms and tools for NLP tasks. Integrate with data platforms and sources via API. Train models and run evaluation experiments; perform statistical analysis and refine models. Extend ML libraries and frameworks for NLP tasks; stay updated with advances in ML. Demonstrate deep understanding of text representation techniques (e.g., n-grams, bag of words, sentiment analysis), statistics, and classification algorithms. Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with ML frameworks and APIs.

Experience

7+ years of experience developing and integrating machine learning models and pre-trained APIs on cloud platforms. 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or NLP ML Engineer or similar role (preferred).
