Overview
GeoEngineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer or Geologist for our Puget Sound area (Seattle, Redmond or Tacoma) office, based on candidate preference. Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on environmental investigation and remediation projects, planning and managing environmental data (soil, sediment, groundwater and vapor) collection efforts, managing cleanup construction oversight, evaluating and interpreting environmental data, performing engineering and scientific analysis and evaluation, and preparing cleanup documents including work plans, reports and design (design drawings, specifications and engineers estimate). Manage projects, develop and support client relationships, business development and mentoring junior staff. Play a key role working closely with Principals/Associates in developing and supporting client relationships, business development activities, preparing Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) and competing for new project opportunities. Serve as a technical leader for clients and project staff, providing guidance on all phases of remediation projects including planning, permitting, investigation, design, cleanup construction, closeout and long-term monitoring. Plan and manage field explorations and environmental data collection efforts (soil, sediment, groundwater and vapor) including activities such as drilling, test pitting, sediment sampling, coring, monitoring well installation and groundwater sample collection. Evaluate and interpret field and laboratory data, perform engineering/scientific analysis, develop solutions to complex problems, and evaluate contaminant fate and transport to develop conceptual site models and exposure pathway assessments. Develop and evaluate remedial technologies and perform disproportionate cost analyses to meet MTCA Cleanup Regulations and/or Sediment Management Standards (SMS). Prepare RI/FS work plans, sampling and analysis plans, data reports, RI/FS reports, cleanup action plans and remedial action completion reports; prepare design documents, calculations, and permit applications. Perform management and oversight of cleanup construction including remedial excavation, dredging of contaminated sediment, installation of sediment caps, in-situ remediation systems and site restoration activities. Perform project and task management duties, such as developing scopes of work and budgets, coordinating with clients, subcontractor solicitation, invoicing, cost control and contract reviews. Mentor and train junior staff. Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in civil/environmental engineering or geology. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of environmental consulting or related professional experience. Licensed engineer/geologist. Washington PE (Professional Engineer) for engineers and Washington LG (Licensed Geologist) or LHG (Licensed Hydrogeologist) for geologists. Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including MTCA Cleanup Regulations and SMS, and how to apply them. Skilled in managing environmental field investigations (soil, sediment, groundwater and vapor) and related projects. Seniority level
