The Tax Services – Financial Services Office – Customer Tax Operations and Reporting Services (CTORS) team focuses on US tax information reporting and withholding matters. You will work on engagements across the financial services sectors, focusing on non-resident alien withholding and reporting (IRC 1441-1446), FATCA, domestic withholding and reporting, FATCA reporting, cost basis reporting, and CRS. You will collaborate with colleagues to advise clients on tax rules and implement changes to operations, processes and systems.

The CTORS team works on engagements in the financial services, banking, insurance, and multinational sectors. You will develop as a trusted business advisor, with mentoring from senior tax professionals and opportunities to participate in virtual and in-person trainings to grow technical knowledge.

Your Key Responsibilities

Interface daily with superiors, peers, subordinates and clients on CTORS projects.

Interpret IRS Code and Regulations, draft guidance, perform data analysis and requirements development to help clients translate and implement rules.

Conduct gap analyses of clients’ policies, procedures and systems and write business requirements.

Prepare documentation including presentations and flow charts.

Engage in technical analysis, process improvement and respond to requests for proposals from clients.

Support development of innovative technology solutions and train/manage staff located in remote delivery centers.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Ability to read and interpret IRS Code, regulations and instructions

Strong writing skills for policy and procedure writing

Ability to interface with all facets of the business

Ability to multitask and manage projects

Creative problem solving, strong critical thinking

Ability to contribute as an individual and as part of a team

To qualify for the role, you must have at a minimum

Bachelor’s degree; J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or MST preferred

Minimum 5 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience

Licensed attorney, CPA, PM professional, Six Sigma/Lean or equivalent certification, or eligibility to obtain one of these designations

Ideally, you’ll also have

Active participation in industry groups such as SIFMA, ABA, IIB

Ability to understand and implement tax rules

Interest or experience in tax information reporting and withholding (Chapter 3, 4, and 61) matters

What We Offer You

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Salary range: $129,500 to $237,500 (US). NYC Metro, WA, CA ranges: $155,400 to $269,800. Salaries vary by education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. Total Rewards includes medical/dental, pension/401(k) and paid time off.

Hybrid work model with most client-facing work expected in person 40-60% of the time.
