Overview
Project Manager, Investment Management – Voya Investment Management. The purpose of the Project Manager role is to provide leadership and support to ensure predictable, consistent, and successful program and/or project execution. The PMO executes on-time and on-budget programs that enable strategic goals and objectives. The Project Manager provides governance and standards, planning, coordination, reporting and monitoring of a diverse mix of strategic programs and/or projects. The Project Manager represents the team to internal stakeholders and external vendors, delivering concise status and progress reporting to ensure transparency into completion timelines and risks. The role involves significant exposure across senior leadership and requires strong communication and relationship skills. The scope includes business and technology initiatives with autonomy and the ability to influence while maintaining executive support. Responsibilities
Plan and manage large and/or complex strategic programs and/or projects to ensure predictable, successful delivery. Define governance, roles, responsibilities, decision rights and escalation paths; collaborate with finance and business leaders to track and report program/ project expenses. Provide holistic program/ project views with executive and working group reporting that communicates status, completion, and risks. Lead planning activities: define scope, create a consolidated timeline, identify dependencies, and establish controls (kickoff, status reporting, risk management, change control, etc.). Ensure success criteria are defined upfront and actively managed to achieve outcomes. Demonstrate strong subject matter knowledge and effective communication to influence stakeholders. Assist managers in identifying resources, developing timelines, and tracking milestones within schedule and budget. Facilitate strategic planning with business leaders to determine scope, objectives and potential hurdles with alternative solutions. Coordinate across Voya Investment Management to understand requirements, scope programs, and contribute to portfolio/program roadmaps. Contribute to special projects to enhance PMO performance as needed. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of progressive experience in consulting, project and/or program management and/or business analysis within the investment management (buy-side) industry. Experience managing large, complex programs through all lifecycle stages: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing. Strong facilitation skills: setting agendas, managing tasks and time, taking minutes, documentation, and action items. Experience managing programs with shared resources (internal and external), including onshore/offshore models. Experience developing strategic investment proposals or business cases (including cost-benefit analysis). Multitasking, problem solving, adaptability to changing priorities; knowledge of change management processes and industry best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to influence at executive levels in a matrixed environment. Coaching and feedback skills. Proficiency in MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, PowerPoint; experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools a plus. Knowledge of two or more of the following areas: Marketing/Digital Marketing, Product Distribution, Investment Management Operations (front/middle office), Investment Management Applications & Technologies, or Specialty Fixed Income. Experience with private markets highly preferred. Compensation
Base salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 USD. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities based on role and performance. Actual compensation may vary by location, experience, education, licensure requirements, and skill level and will be finalized at offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours.
