Overview

Personal Financial Counselor; El Segundo, CA role at Magellan Health. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, delivering counseling and education to military service members and their families. Responsibilities

Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and related events). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications) as applicable; virtual PFC support may be authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from assigned installations. Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years’ experience in lieu of bachelor’s. Alternate: high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of bachelor’s. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract. Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 2 background investigation. Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI). One of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Information & Benefits
