U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Security Clearance: Secret - Current. The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) team is hiring Principal Systems Engineers to support programs for U.S. military and international customers, focusing on design, development, and integration from concept to production. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure system performance and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs. What You Will Do
Define system requirements and specifications for electronic products based on project goals and customer needs Drive and execute the design and architecture of system-level solutions, hardware integration, firmware, and software components Lead collaborative efforts with cross-functional team members (hardware and software engineers) to ensure system compatibility and performance Lead and conduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and functionality Guide the transition of products from prototype to production, including design reviews and documentation Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance product performance and features Drive clear communication with team members, stakeholders, and customers to align on project milestones and deliverables Qualifications You Must Have
Experience in electronic product development, preferably within multidisciplinary teams Experience with testing and validation methodologies for electronic systems Experience leading cross-functional teams Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Qualifications We Prefer
Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) Experience with voice communication systems, including VoIP protocols like SIP, RTP and SRTP Familiarity with multicast networking for efficient data transmission in communication systems Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, UDP, and network troubleshooting tools Basic understanding of firmware development (C/C++, Python) Knowledge of military specifications for rugged and reliable systems Proficiency in system design tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent) Experience leading discussions with customers and vendors/subcontractors A current Active Top Secret Clearance What We Offer
