Overview
Data Scientist II role at AbbVie. This position is part of AbbVie's Business Technology Solutions (BTS) and involves contributing to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities. Base pay range: $82,500.00/yr - $157,500.00/yr. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience; discuss with the recruiter for more details. Responsibilities
Assist the team with the analysis of business requirements and develop solution recommendations that anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements. Participate in designing and developing processes and systems to consolidate and analyze data, addressing variety, volume, data quality, and velocity considerations. Contribute to the development of advanced analytical models and techniques including supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling. Collaborate with more senior team members to generate reports and communicate findings effectively via written, oral, and visual dashboard methods. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree plus 4 years of experience. Foundational knowledge of statistical and machine learning methods; experience with modeling and business analytics. Academic experience with statistical languages and packages (e.g., Python or R) with solid skill in at least one. Experience in enhancing data collection processes, consolidating data, standardizing, optimizing, and performing exploratory data analysis before ML model usage (e.g., capstone projects). Experience with relational databases and/or distributed computing platforms (SQL, Spark, PySpark, Hive). Experience using visualization tools for presenting data and analysis (R/Shiny, GGPlot, Tableau, Qlik, or similar). Familiarity with AWS, Apache Spark, NumPy, TensorFlow is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Willingness to come onsite 3 days a week. Nice to Have:
Background in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry experience. Knowledge of Agile project management and DevOps processes. Experience with Personalization, Search, Deep Learning, Operations Research; Linux/Unix OS; NLP and data mining. Working knowledge of data science tools like Dataiku or AWS SageMaker.
