Customer Application Systems Design Senior Staff Engineer
Location: Austin, TX We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer in the Embedded Solutions Group, part of the Advanced Embedded Computing business unit, focusing on x86 solutions for networking and storage products. The Customer Applications Engineering (CAE) team designs, integrates, and maintains enterprise networking and storage products, working with Field Applications Engineers, R&D engineers, and customers to launch new products and resolve issues. Role
This position contributes to solving difficult problems and helping AMD customers design the latest, industry-leading solutions in embedded storage and networking. Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance to ODM/OEM customers on integrating AMD processors into networking and storage products and custom designs. Conduct architecture reviews, schematic reviews, design-in support, and training on product features. Analyze, debug, and root cause issues on AMD processor-enabled platforms and coordinate with development teams to provide solutions. Train field sales and support staff on features and usage of AMD products. Occasional international travel may be needed. Preferred Experience
Expertise in hardware architecture, logic/circuit design, and implementation. Hands-on design and debugging of hardware issues on SoC and x86 platforms. Experience with signal integrity and power delivery networks. Familiarity with high-speed circuit testing (oscilloscope and JBERT). Experience with DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, U/R/LR DIMM JEDEC standards, PCIe4/5, and 1/2.5/10G Ethernet. Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (C/C++, Python, Perl, etc.). Familiarity with Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server). Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions with customers and internal teams. Academic Credentials
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Location
