A store manager plans, directs, and controls the operation of the store, supervising all employees to manage production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit, and hours of work across all departments. They oversee product ordering to ensure the store is stocked appropriately, support sales plans, and aim to maximize sales. Additionally, they ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and, if applicable, collective bargaining agreements. The manager is responsible for hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions for all staff.
Job requirements:

Be on 24-hour call.
Possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate maturity, and be a proven leader.
Read, write, and perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.
Be a self-starter.
Travel to and from work with a maximum drive time of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Read and interpret financial statements, including profit and loss reports, and set objectives to address deficiencies.
Operate all store equipment.
Open and close the cash office, set up cash register drawers, and balance store cash, maintaining accurate records.
Provide verbal and written directions to employees.
Supervise recruiting and training of staff.
Conduct meetings to communicate business results and strategic direction.
Operate telephones, intercoms, and computer systems; knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
Prepare work schedules within the store budget and complete weekly store reports.
Effectively communicate and deal with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees, and employee representatives as necessary.
Discipline employees according to company policy when required.
Establish, interpret, and administer rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Have extensive knowledge of store operations and/or be able to perform the duties of store employees.
Maintain a labor-efficient and profitable operation within the managed location.
