Fickett Structural Solutions is looking for an Entry-Level Staff Engineer with 0-4 years of experience. Our ideal candidate has the energy and passion to support and grow our efforts and assist with our field inspection and reporting activities, as well as the leadership skills to enjoy working for a growing company that will value your contributions. Position Overview

Use your skills and experience to assist our inspection crews while being mentored by our team of Professional Engineers Perform structural inspections of bridges, culverts, ancillary structures, dams, and buildings throughout the United States Create detailed and professional reports based on the inspection findings and complete the report entry into DOT-specific databases. Interpret plans and specifications to ensure newly constructed structures are in conformance with applicable plans, specifications, and Agency standards Assist in design and load rating calculations as directed by our Professional Engineers Assist in the development of client presentations and meetings to offer the best services possible to our clients Office-related activities, including comprehensive inspection reports, assisting on design projects, load ratings, and other engineering-related tasks Capable of taking tasks assigned by a Professional Engineer mentor and performing the activities in a self-guided manner Attend company-provided trainings, including SPRAT rope access certification training, and various bridge inspection-related courses to bolster your inspection knowledge Collaborate with coworkers and clients to achieve common goals Open to some travel (up to 25% of your time) for out-of-town field work, including consecutive overnight stays Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Certifications

4-year Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Management, or in your final semester of obtaining this degree An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate is preferred, but it will be necessary to obtain one within 6 months of starting your career with us Over the course of your college career, you have performed various summer internships or Co-ops in your field of study, preferably with an entity performing bridge inspections or related services. Previous Work Experience And Skills

Ability to understand and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings Detail-oriented, with the ability to provide accurate inspections and documentation Working knowledge of a version of a drafting program (whether it be MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit) is ideal Proficient with the standard Microsoft products, including Excel and Word Critical thinking and excellent communication skills Requirements for Field Activities

Comfortable with working at heights while utilizing lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or rope access While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to 8 hours or more a day Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
