Senior Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or Engineer
in our
Phoenix, Arizona
office. This position is well-suited for a talented, highly experienced individual who is interested in being a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management; Project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability; Evaluate contaminated sites and develop remediation approaches, including feasibility studies, removal action work plans, remediation design plans; Lead the development of work plans, data evaluation, and cost-benefit analyses; Manage multi-disciplinary teams of scientists and engineers; Write technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; oversee and review documents prepared by project teams; Build a portfolio of clients by winning new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and executing a personal business development plan; Mentor, guide, and motivate early career staff assigned as direct reports in the areas of project performance, schedule management, client expectations and career development; work with employees to correct deficiencies; Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; At times, the job may also include oversight of fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction; and Promote the firm and our practice at conferences and professional organizations networking meetings.
Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in geology, engineering, or a related field. (required) Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (required)
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Demonstrated experience with site assessment and remedial investigation. (required) Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required) Proven success in the development and management of clients and leadership skills. (required) Strong background and understanding of business performance goals and risk management (required) Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required) Excellent writing and communication skills. (required) Field work and overnight travel may be required. Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
