Overview
Senior Infrastructure-as-Code Engineer at UKG. This role is in the cloud operations/devops space, supporting internal product teams in deployments. The candidate should have strong experience with cloud technologies, GitHub Actions, Terraform and Ansible.
About the Role This position may perform work with the U.S. government; therefore U.S. citizens and those with an active government security clearance are preferred or the ability to obtain appropriate clearance is required. This role is hybrid, 3 days per week in one of our offices located in Lowell, MA; Atlanta, GA; Alpharetta, GA; or Weston, FL.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Write clean, maintainable code for various software applications and systems.
Design and Architecture: Participate in design reviews and architect new features and systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Code Review: Review code, provide feedback, and maintain a high bar of technical excellence with observability and unit tests.
Testing: Build testable software, define tests, automate tests using tools (e.g., JUnit, Selenium); follow the test automation pyramid.
Debugging and Troubleshooting: Triage defects or customer-reported issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Service Health and Quality: Maintain service health and quality; identify, escalate and help resolve issues; contribute to root cause analysis and preventive measures.
DevOps Model: Work in a DevOps model, owning the lifecycle from requirements to production.
Documentation: Properly document new features, enhancements or fixes and contribute to training materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of professional experience with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
Extensive experience with software architecture and design patterns; ability to design and implement scalable, reliable systems in a DevOps model.
Deep expertise in one or more programming languages.
Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale, complex software projects.
Proficiency with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and version control (GitHub).
Proficiency in building telemetry/observability as part of the development process.
Collaborative, hybrid work model with a requirement to be in the office 3 days per week from day one. Local candidates are highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

USA Pay Transparency The pay range for this position is $109,000 to $143,450, though base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, knowledge and location.
