Human Capital - The assistant principal develops the effectiveness of campus personnel through professional learning opportunities.
Trains, develops, and supports a high performing campus staff Develops leadership capacity of campus staff Contributes to the retention of the most talented and valued staff
Strategic Operations - The assistant principal strategically plans and manages campus systems and operations.
Manages resources (people, financial, equipment) effectively to support the organization goals Effectively organizes and manages school and personal time to accomplish campus goals Establishes and supports organizational practices with long term sustainability in mind
Professional Responsibilities - The assistant principal conducts themselves in a professional manner.
Supports and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders Communicates and behaves effectively with stakeholders (students, teachers, staff, parents, community, and District) Maintains personal and professional development
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
Master’s Degree in educational administration or a directly related field from an accredited university or be currently enrolled in a program leading to a master’s degree in educational administration or a directly related field. Texas standard Principal certificate, one-year Texas Probationary Principal Certification, Texas mid-management certificate or have passed the Texas Principal Exam and be eligible for certification. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, strategies, goals, and objectives of public education. Knowledge of procedures, techniques, and strategies pertaining to the administration of school level operation. Ability to effectively plan, organize and coordinate the management functions and activities of school operation. Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision. Ability to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions. Ability to promote a positive, caring climate for learning. Ability to effectively analyze problems, issues, and concerns and formulate appropriate alternative solutions. Ability to deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to interact effectively with student, staff, parents, and community members. Organizational, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position. Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
