Inter-Con provides customized security solutions for clients and seeks a Fire and Life Safety Director to support fire and life safety operations on site. Responsibilities

Act as Fire and Life Safety Director as per guidelines of FDNY – Certificate of Fitness F-89 dated 7-27-17 which illustrates knowledge required for an FLSD including Building Knowledge, Fire Command Center & Elevators, Non-Fire Emergencies including Active Shooter and Training Elements. Monitor and control all fire/life safety panels within the site. Respond to trouble, supervisory and alarm signals; dispatch fire brigade or runners to investigate signals. Perform daily lamp-test. Review work-order tickets that may impact the fire alarm or suppression systems; SWMP. Maintain fire command logbooks as per LL#5 and LL#26. Sign-in at beginning of shift and end of tour; indicate any relieved times, breaks or meals. Communicate all fire and non-fire emergency incidents to the Operations Command Center Supervisor and First Responders without delay. Conduct and document assigned code-required inspections (e.g., warden phones, extinguishers, AEDs, stairwells, emergency lighting, central station); notify lead FLSD or CBRE Fire Safety Director of deficiencies promptly. Attend all assigned training and participate in tenant warden training. Enter all daily activities and inspections into the Maximo work order system. Attend training sessions (AED/CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Life Safety) as assigned. Maintain fire warden organizational charts and command log; record impairments to fire detection and suppression systems, hot-work activities. Maintain professional uniforms, appearance, and grooming; respond to medical emergencies on site with provided medical equipment as required. Ensure coverage; at least one FLSD must always hold post at the Fire Command Station with scheduled relief for end-of-shift handoff. Monitor radio, email, and text communications related to site activities. Account for all materials and supplies each shift (radios, keys, medical supplies) and report missing or damaged equipment. Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent; college degree is highly desirable. Clear written and verbal English communication; ability to compile incident information for written reports. Basic computer skills including email and Word; ability to enter daily activities, inspections, and incidents in Maximo. Proper certification by the appropriate governmental authority to act as a Deputy Fire & Life Safety Director (FDNY F-89 Certificate of Fitness). Three (3) years of experience as a Fire Safety Director in a high-rise building or large complex. AED/CPR certification; FDNY Certificate of Fitness – Fireguard for Impairment F-01; additional FDNY certifications preferred (F-60, S-12, S-14, S-15, etc.). Ability to respond to fast-moving, stressful conditions and provide clear, concise information to OCC Management, First Responders, and senior staff. High integrity and strong security judgement; above-average computer skills and required licenses/certifications as applicable.
