We are seeking professional and engaging teachers for our Child Development Programs across the City of Boston and Suburban Boston. The YMCA of Greater Boston is dedicated to providing excellent family-centered infant, toddler, preschool, and after school care. We’re looking for EEC certified teachers to enrich the lives of the children we serve. Key Responsibilities
Keep safety of children as a first priority. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well-being with the children, families, and other staff at all times. Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum that fosters children’s development. Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of children in the classroom. Conduct child assessments and provide feedback and recommendations to parents and caregivers. Lead by personal example, help interpret the YMCA character values, and serve as positive role models. Use positive and constructive methods of behavior management and ensure all staff do the same. Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and guide transitions smoothly. Collaborate with co-teachers in classroom design, ensuring materials are ready and properly stored. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

You have good human relations skills to foster positive relationships with community agencies, staff, families, and program participants. You love working with kids.
You enjoy creating educational experiences that promote learning and growth. You are at least 21 years old and meet the Department of Early Education and Care requirements, including EEC certification. You are able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within the first six months of employment. You will complete Child Abuse Prevention Training, Blood Borne Pathogen Training, and Sexual Harassment Training within the first 60 days of employment. Job Benefits
