Overview

Intensive Outpatient Counselor position at Behavioral Health Group (BHG). Requirements: a Bachelors or Masters level degree is required, plus LCDP, CADC, and PADC. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary ambassador for the IOP program, representing its mission and values. Collaborate with clinical teams, case managers, and support staff to ensure smooth program operations. Engage with referral partners, community organizations, and healthcare providers to build program awareness. Contribute to development and growth of the IOP program, including new processes, program design, and implementation. Assist with outreach activities and build relationships with referral sources. Provide input to leadership on strategies to increase program visibility and effectiveness. Maintain professionalism and represent the program positively in community and professional settings. Attend assigned work location promptly and regularly. Complete assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner. Conduct evidence-based individual and group counseling; perform admissions using ASAM criteria (ASAM Level 2.1); maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with the recovery care team and clinical supervisor; counsel patients to address underlying health conditions and support functioning and recovery. Deliver IOP program curriculum (Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, CBT) a minimum of 3 hours per day, 4 days per week; provide supportive individual counseling; engage patients to maximize program participation. Develop additional clinical interventions to meet specific patient needs (e.g., parenting individuals); coordinate with billing/RCM as needed. Ensure compliance with state regulatory IOP requirements and protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Orient patients to program services, intake/readmission processes, and provide follow-up counseling until a primary counselor is assigned. Record-keeping: ensure patient records are up-to-date and well-organized. Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree required; LCDP, CADC, PADC required. Experience with outreach activities is preferred. High integrity; excellent verbal and written communication; sound judgment; ability to work independently and under pressure; strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with confidentiality and handle sensitive issues; ability to react quickly; understanding of substance use population and treatment planning. Knowledge of addiction as a brain disease and commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Speaking and hearing abilities sufficient for effective communication by phone or in person; vision adequate for reading and computer work. Prolonged sitting, bending, occasional lifting; standard medical office conditions. Work with patients who may be ill or have complex health or legal system involvement.
