Overview
The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership of the Shrine’s mission as well as its liturgical life, programs, and exhibits. The Director will oversee the Shrine as a national and international place of pilgrimage and prayer, as well as a center for intellectual and cultural renewal stemming from and faithful to the vision and thought of St John Paul II. The Director will strengthen relationships and develop partnerships with other Catholic apostolates and the hierarchy of the Church in the United States. Working closely with KCCF and Charities leadership, the Director will lead the development and implementation of fundraising activities for the Shrine. The Director will also perform other duties for the Executive Office of the Supreme Knight as assigned. Core Responsibilities
Provide leadership for the Shrine’s mission, programs, exhibits, and liturgical life. Oversee the Shrine as a national and international site of pilgrimage and prayer. Develop partnerships with Catholic apostolates and Church leadership in the United States. Lead development and implementation of fundraising activities in collaboration with KCCF and Charities leadership. Perform other duties for the Executive Office of the Supreme Knight as assigned. Qualifications
Strong leadership skills Strong relational and outreach skills Strong analytic skills Strong writing and editing skills Strong public speaking skills Strong strategic planning skills Proactive approach to addressing issues Extensive knowledge of the Catholic Church Education
BA or BS degree Masters or equivalent in theology, business, museum studies, law or related field 8-10 years of related management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience Preferred
Theological and/or practical grounding in Church teaching, especially relating to John Paul II (faith and reason, family, Catholic Social Teaching, religious freedom) Demonstrated capacity for relationships with Church hierarchy and lay leaders in the DC area Compensation
The wage range for this role considers skill sets, experience, licensure/certifications, and organizational needs. The current estimated range for this role is $212,900 - $376,600, with location noted for Connecticut. Knights of Columbus reserves the right to adjust the range if the work location differs. Typically, compensation is not at the top of the range and is based on the specifics of each case. Authorization To Work In the United States
