Overview
Senior Manager, Business Program Management at Vanguard. Support the launch and execution of a new Advice & Wealth Management (AWM) divisional strategy, shaping and delivering a multi-year portfolio of initiatives that drive enterprise transformation. Operate within a newly formed and evolving team, offering an opportunity to influence team culture, processes, and ways of working. Lead complex, cross-divisional program portfolios that require strong stakeholder alignment, strategic thinking, and disciplined execution. Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, translating business vision into actionable program plans and ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes. Navigate ambiguity and change with agility, helping define program structures and governance in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift as the strategy matures.
Responsibilities
Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make compensation decisions in accordance with applicable HR policies and procedures. Manage cross-divisional programs or multiple workstreams within a larger program. Drive all phases of the program lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes. Create and maintain a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Provide written and verbal communications on program status to Vanguard leadership and stakeholders. Build and maintain strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support program initiatives. Develop strong relationships with program leadership, sponsors, and workstream leads. Ensure steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintain control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements. Integrate and oversee change management efforts across the overall program. Monitor program costs and budget, escalating variances as needed. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of eight years related business experience, with at least four years of project management experience. Previous people-leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
