Overview
The Senior Analyst II on the Business Intelligence team provides reporting and information to our business partners. Work closely with credit union personnel and business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to create monitoring and reporting using information to improve products, services and/or business processes. This includes gathering, preparing, analyzing, and summarizing data from multiple systems or external sources for into visualizations for management’s reference to guide strategic development. This is a senior level analyst with Golden 1 Credit Union, and you will work with leadership or other analysts on highly complex analysis that impact corporate strategy using our data. You will also act as a leader on the team working as a subject matter expert and as a technical expert within our team and with our business partners. Projects will require the use of critical thinking and communication to complete, along with technical skills including SQL, PowerBI and Excel. An understanding of how to use SAS Enterprise Guide, R or Python for statistical work or data manipulation is also expected. You will also need to be able to quickly understand, clean and interpret data for use in the reporting. Responsibilities
Create data storytelling, converting data into usable information to assist the Credit Union in making data driven decisions. Mentor Jr Analysts on the proper ways to use tools and mythologies to ensure the success of the team. Proactively review business needs and suggest reporting projects that will add value to the Credit Union. Assist with signoff of reporting and analysis prior to release to the line of business. Assist Leadership and Senior Analysts with complex analysis integrated into reporting, using data to add value to our business partners. Using PowerBI, create visuals that will assist Senor Management with business decisions. Using PowerBI, Excel and SQL, aggregate multiple data sources into a single story to summarize the results of a review into actionable points for Senior Management. Develop reports for executive management and credit union committees, ensuring that the reports are accurate and thorough. Assist with automation of Excel based reports. Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis. Continue to expand on an understanding of lending/deposit rates, policies and procedures impacting responsibilities. Update procedures in response to changes in operational activities or technological upgrades. Perform reviews or validations of Business Intelligence Analyst I work prior to, or in lieu of, review by Team Leadership. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control. Work with Leadership and with other Analysts on complex analysis, using data to add value to our business partners. Use Statistical concepts and tools to find causation, patterns, and trends. Assist with modeling and model creation to solve complex problems. Recommend enhancements to analytical modeling tools to further support strategic plans and initiatives. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements for projects. Develop and Recommend Internal Controls improvements. Lead complex analysis projects, coordinating and delegating work to Jr Analysts and business partners to ensure success. Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to build periodic trend analysis reports, and present insights and findings that are relevant, actionable, and visually appealing to management. Review and maintain an understanding of current and future economic landscape and internal and external influences. Assist with workflow, monitoring the ticketing queue for new work and ensuring it is assigned to the right teammate for success. Assist with the technical skill growth and business knowledge growth of Jr Analysts. Qualifications
Education : Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or similarly quantitative/analytical majors. Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree. Experience : 11+ years of progressive banking/credit union experience and 11+ years of analytical experience. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within credit union operations. Knowledge / Skills Technical Skills: Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, data connections, macros), PDF Creation/Editing (Nitro Pro), Microsoft Power BI (building visuals, datasets, DAX), SQL Programming (selects, joins, aggregations, temp tables, complex queries). Other Tools: Power Automate, SAS Enterprise Guide, Python and/or R, VBA. Leadership : Coaching and leadership abilities; able to lead the team in lieu of Team Leadership and mentor staff; stakeholder guidance; delegation and collaboration. Behavior : Self-motivated, ownership of development, proactive problem solving, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, proactive use of tools, presentation quality, and stakeholder issue resolution. Communication : Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts, present to leadership, and engage with external stakeholders. Physical Requirements
Prolonged sitting with occasional mobility; corrected vision within normal range; hearing within normal range (hearing device provided if needed). Ability to lift 15 lbs as required; occasional department movement to interact with staff. Licenses / Certifications
